Brandon Goodship

Don’t wish him any ill will, hope he finds that form again that made us sign him. I wanted him to be another Freddy Eastwood but he just turned out to be another Mark Salter.

Brandon was a goal machine first time he was there , then he came to Southend United .

Apparently he's been injured for pretty much the entire season so hard to know if he's still got it at that level.

Went to Taunton v Weymouth in the NLS On Tuesday in truly howling conditions, a farmers field of a pitch which under normal circumstances would have been postponed but Taunton much like us until recently are suffering massive financial problems, HMRC involved, unpaid wages, massive player exodus etc and the rumors circulating were should the game be postponed that could have seen the club fold.

Anyway, onto the game and Brandon Goodship was playing for Weymouth, their fans think he is a hero and he was the standout player. Scored 2 good goals, one a strike going in off the post from about 18yrds and the other showed good composure going through 1v1 to slot it past the keeper and see Weymouth win 2-0, subbed off in the 89th minute to a standing ovation from the 100 or so travelling Weymouth fans.

What position was he playing?

Hope Taunton survive.

He was instrumental in their 3-3 draw at home against Weston-Super-Mare. Scoring 2 there and laying the ball off to the left to allow it to be crossed in for the equalizer.

On paper he played out left in a front 3 but it seemed he had a bit of free role, didn't have to do any of the dirty work ,tracking back or defending & Took all the set pieces but he had a smile on his face so looked like he was enjoying his football again.

Taunton on the other hand are in trouble, end of october they went top of NLS however in Nov/Dec they only had about 2 home games due to postponements and this has cost them dearly. They had sold out local derbies with Yeovil & Torquay cancelled over xmas and the third party they use for tickets naturally wouldn't release the money until the game takes place. Players went unpaid, only on part time contracts and the vultures came swooping and around half the 1st team have now left....a tough few months ahead on and off the pitch.

Fortunately for Taunton, their matches v Yeovil and Torquay would never be cancelled.

Spent a week based in Weymouth 1 1/2 years ago, & thought it was a lovely seaside resort with plenty of pubs, restaurants etc.
They have a decent ground although just under 2 miles from the town, & a railway station not in the middle of nowhere.
Shame they aren't in a higher division, but whether or not they'd be able to attract decent attendances from the catchment areas, i don't know?.
