Britt Assombalonga

Can't believe we didn't negotiate a 50% sell on from anything watford earn as part of the loan deal, for our time & effort to turn him into a class striker. Ron out

We (Watford) receive £2.5 million from this deal as we had a 50% sell on clause inserted when we sold Britt last season.

Sturrock did an outstanding job in smoothing the rough edges and improving his back to goal play.

It can't have hurt when we were negotiating the Coulthirst loan with Spuds to have pointed out our role in Brit's development and how Watford and Peterborough have benefited from it.

Even though Sturrock hasn't been our manager for over a year ?

I wonder how close Britt is to getting into the England setup. You'd think if he carries on the way he is going that the U21s would take a look at him at least.

I know the DR Congo have put feelers out to him but hopefully he has a go at breaking into the England side.

If he carries on like this at Forest, then he could well be in the Premiership next season.

Not sure a player like Britt fits into the England way of playing with just one striker.

Article on the Daily Mail website earlier in the week about the man himself - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ritt-Assombalonga-feature-England-future.html .

I'd put money on him having an England cap by the end of next season (as long as he makes the sensible decision to pick England over Congo). He's already scored three league goals for Forest and, as that article points out, there's a real shortage of English strikers playing in the Premier League.

I think if you made a list of the top 10 English strikers then Britt isn't far off that list at all. Add in injuries and Britts youth and he won't be far away if he scores loads in the CCC

Forest v Derby on TV now, Assombalonga just scored and now joint top goalscorer in the Championship.
