BT - FC Match 13

My batting failed yet again, 115-8 in reply to 161 all out. Rubbish !!

Mrs BB kept the runs down, but couldn't make much head-way wickets wise, oppo ended up 330-3.

Tickled another one out this morning but it's going to be a struggle to win it from here which will probably cost us promotion. Damn these flat pitches!

End of Over 120 (3 runs). Jock Saltires: 369-6, runrate=3.08
Mushtaq 27-5-81-1
Blackburn* 29 (55 balls)
Charl 0 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: Rufus b. Sutherland 19 (FOW: 366/6)

Finally bowled out for 119

End of Over 2 (1 runs). Hoggard's Heroes: 2-0, runrate=1.00 (1st Inn: 161-10)
Lead by 44 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 119-10)
Prasad 1-0-1-0
Poole* 2 (5 balls)
Symon 0 (7 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB has nipped a couple out this morning, but she's in the same situation as MrB really.

End of Over 122 (1 runs). Cricket Geniuses: 341-5, runrate=2.80
York 17-0-52-2
Hoult* 134 (338 balls)
Bhutia 0 (6 balls)

Last Wicket: Daniell c. Stride b. Mohammed 2 (FOW: 340/5)

Getting there, important thing is to get the bowling points on board. Going to have to hope my boys can bat quickly and then hope the weather is favourable tomorrow.

End of Over 130 (Maiden). Jock Saltires: 383-8, runrate=2.95
Sajjad 23-8-42-2
Whiteside* 0 (16 balls)
Groves 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Charl b. Sajjad 9 (FOW: 383/8)

Nicked a couple out, but can't see my batting chasing anything over 200

End of Over 21 (1 runs). Hoggard's Heroes: 56-2, runrate=2.67 (1st Inn: 161-10)
Lead by 98 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 119-10)

Backley 10 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Hunter b. Curle 6 (FOW: 38/2)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good performance from Mrs BB bowlers this morning, but she's lost an early wicket. Kev, she's set her declaration as 361 to try and deny them any bowling points that she can. Whether she'll get to 361 is another matter :)

End of Over 2 (5 runs). DIBS DIPPERS: 8-1, runrate=4.00
Trail by 363 runs. (Cricket Geniuses 371-10)
Devaney 1-0-5-1
Potter* 5 (6 balls)
Stride 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Hutton c. Allardyce b. Devaney 3 (FOW: 8/1)

Their bowling is reasonably strong, not sure we're going to get to 360 quick enough here. Need Skip to stop hogging the strike and let Richie cut loose.

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 8 (10 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 32-0, runrate=4.00
Trail by 354 runs. (Jock Saltires 386-10)
Mulligan 4-0-24-0
Maymann* 16 (29 balls)
Cunningham 16 (19 balls)

Going to bowl them out cheaply again by the looks of it, but I've no confidence we'll chase whatever we're set

End of Over 40 (Maiden). Hoggard's Heroes: 93-4, runrate=2.33 (1st Inn: 161-10)
Lead by 135 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 119-10)

Stride 37 (48 balls)

Last Wicket: Hutton c. Allardyce b. Devaney 3 (FOW: 8/1)

Went off to a meeting for 10 minutes and came back to find we have bowled them out ! 148 to win and get within 13 points of 4th place, who are going to lose and pick up 0 points, setting up a huge game next week.

End of Over 50 (1 runs). Hoggard's Heroes: 105-10, runrate=2.10 (1st Inn: 161-10)
Lead by 147 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 119-10)

Higgs* 4 (17 balls)
Shaw 11 (26 balls)

Last Wicket: Owens b. Mcdonald 2 (FOW: 146/6)

definition of 'tense, low-scoring affair' here... a draw in this one would guarantee me 4th spot in FC (and hence avoid relegation, which would be a massive acheivement). it looks like being a result pitch though.

End of Over 8 (1 runs). Pettefershire CCC: 17-1, runrate=2.13 (1st Inn: 266-10)
Lead by 76 runs. (Errant Wizards 207-10)

Last Wicket: Ockert c. Sajjad b. Horrigan 0 (FOW: 5/2)

My lot can't do anything right. Looks like we're going to stroll to victory, but in doing so we're going to deprive ourselves of a day's cash !

End of Over 37 (3 runs). BATTY SHRIMPERS: 127-2, runrate=3.43 (1st Inn: 119-10)

finished 123-4, a lead of 182 going into the final day. good recovery after being 38-4 at one stage....need Horsey and Rautenbach to stay in for a while tomorrow still though. Spinners did most of the damage for us as expected- Cairns (4-29) and Awan (3-55)- they'll be asked to do the bulk of the bowling if needed tomorrow too.

Oppo 59-2, 71 runs ahead. Need quick wickets in the morning, Suthers has already put in 50 overs in the match already, need one last push from him and he can have a well deserved rest on Friday.

Well what a seesaw day for me - wickets fell far too quickly and I ended up 40 runs ahead. Took 3 quick wickets and was worried about losing day 3 income before a big partnership came. Then they declared leaving me a little over 170 to chase :D They've avoided relegation and would only use 3 to 4 of these in OD. perhaps he was just being nice. Either way I've got 3 day moning coming and 8 wickets left to get not very many runs. Surely I can't collapse from here - unless their one class bowler does what he did this morning.

Early breakthrough from Suthers. It was the 4th wicket that added 250 last time so need another impact.

End of Over 22 (Maiden). Jock Saltires: 62-3, runrate=2.82 (1st Inn: 386-10)
Lead by 74 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 374-2 dec)
Sutherland 11-5-23-1
Ingram* 0 (7 balls)
Mulligan 36 (74 balls)

Last Wicket: Geel c. Curtis b. Sutherland 17 (FOW: 59/3)
