This sort of thing is one of the reasons I started the Division one North and South thread. I bet most clubs in the bottom 2 Divisions are in big trouble behind the scenes.

Certainly is gripping reading, and I feel for the Bury supporters who must be worried about their club - another one of which is in the hands of a property developer!

I read somewhere last season about an idea to split League 2 into North and South and allow the top teams to have "B" teams enter that stage.

"Stewart Day is a 31 year old property entrepreneur who has built up a successful business specialising in the building of student accommodation and development sites based in Lancashire & Yorkshire."

There are property developers who have developed things and property developers who have not.

All very good, but Id hope that type dont have to loan 1m quid at 10% per month interest.

It may not last for them but at least they will probably get promoted on top of bringing in 3 top players the have brought in another 3 including yet another goalscorers, in the last 6 days! Southends promotional push, send 3 out!

Two kids and an out of form striker were loaned out, and you seem to be forgetting to mention that when we did this, we brought in a highly rated Premiership youth striker and a much favoured (on here) new centre back. Easy to slag off the managements efforts when you omit information.

Sounds like just a case of how many days Bury have left.

That sort of loan in not sustainable for any business, forget a football club.

Sad.

Sad to see one of the Oldest Clubs facing a winding up petition again. Bury went into administration in 2010, gained promotion to League 1 in 2014, went back down last year, only to finish second and regain league 1 status this year. Run by property developers and wages allegedly not being paid by the club ( although EFL seem to be supporting with wages. Who would have thought it, no real similarit

There players wrote a letter to the Chairman and press saying not been paid for 12 weeks and that they would have to look to there futures as also a problem with contracts. Wouldnt mind some of their midfield 4 of whom notched up 30 goals !!,

Yep - it's true of so many clubs and indeed other businesses. Can you imagine a local plumbing business (for example) in trouble and local folk giving them money? Me neither!

i find it odd that they are allowed to be promoted despite the financial doping going on. They can't afford the players they have that got them promoted and yet the likelihood is they will only get a points deduction for next season if the proverbial hits the fan. Job done, they got promoted...

This. And how would you feel to be a Mansfield fan, knowing you missed out to them.

None of life's rules apply to football. Would anyone pay £25 for an evening with Roy the plumber. Then listen to tales of how he fitted the gas valve the wrong way round because he was never that good anyway.

Sadly fans bring trouble upon themselves because everybody wants their chairman to spend, spend, spend......If X, Y and Z can sign a new striker then why cant we.

The time for Bury fans to demonstrate and turn up outside the chairman's house was when he loaned them £1m at 138% annual interest......Surprised they have lasted this long.

When the next Bury sign 15 players by June I would say have doubts rather than praise for such long term utter stupidity or in this case, not just breaking the rules but fraud at criminal levels.

Yes undoubted rotten Senior Management, given what appears to have gone on. However you forget to mention that many of those players have jelled superbly this year despite all the shenanigans by the Owner, that indeed is why they came straight back up .
Its also worth reminding those with more of an open mind that in the interest of balance, there are just as many stories of success for those clubs that bring in a significant number of players, I think Sturrock did quite well .

Quiz for Riggers, name the 5 clubs who all brought in more than 9 players and finished in the top half of our table? One Club brought in 16 and missed the play offs by one point, what a disaster, another is in the play off finals, oh dear, awful. The best of those clubs who regularly bring in a lot of players and just miss the play offs, also sold on 15 players claiming FEES on 10 of the them, clearly a dreadful financial mess?

I'll have you know that my wife and I both shelled out £25.50 each for Plumber Roy's sold out "Audience with..." at the Dixon Studio recently and it was a rip-roaring evening of "lead based" entertainment. A lot of laughs, a few tears, a couple of songs and invaluable advice on sweating joints.

Would I go again? You bet I would!
