Rather than 'bottling it' for screwing up Brexit, I think he had to go. He was PM, adamant that we should stay in the EU, and on his watch the people voted to leave. His position was untenable after that.

I was thinking along the lines of policy really, but yes with a helping hand from Lib Dems and then SNP the Tories kept Labour out of power.
