Car help needed

Hi

I have had a problem my renault clio where for weeks it will be fine then all of a sudden a orange light appears which looks a little like the heater plug symbol. it basically doesn't allow to get much over 30mph and getting upto that speed takes a lot of time. it was a case of turning the engine off and then back on again and then after a while it would be ok again. Its getting worse now though and not going off.

After doing some research on the internet I have found out this is a very common problems with clios. The problem is theirs no fixed solution and its kind of trial and error but thats means a lot of money being spent at garages.

Anyone else come across this problem? would be really helpful you could let me know

Sounds like the coil pack. Book it into a garage for diagnostics to be sure but that is what it sounds like to me. Where do you live and I'll reconmend a decent garage in that area.

Oh year, Rayleigh. Right, you have French Car Connection on the Brook Road Industrial Estate, bit pricey but cheaper than a dealer and have all the right equipment. Station Garage at, er, the station. Plenty of people seem to rate them and I haven't heard anything bad about them. Whittinghams in Rochford are pretty good as well. Used to be a Renault repairer so know their stuff. Anyone of those three should be able to help. I'd go with Whittinghams first though.

funnily enough, i got a coil pack fitted at french car connection - cost me about thirty quid. but they were recommended by homebase? across the road. despite me having a ford, ford didnt want to help, they wanted to make an appointment. now i have a decent garage in paddock wood who gave me a great price to do my bearings, and a mobile mechanic, if anyone needs any help in Maidstone area.

Yeah have to recommend French Carnection too when I had my 406 coupe they sorted it a treat.

Maybe a bit far for you, but if you know the Railway pub, there is an estate over the back of that, dads mate own it, top quality garage.

Think it called Autorama
