A very long trip but a very short refwatch.

Tomorrow's referee is newly promoted Chris Kavanagh from Manchester. He is, I believe, one of four such newly promoted referees.

This will be his second ever League match the first one being Dagenham's defeat at Burton last Saturday which was cardless.

He works as the Referees Development Officer for the Manchester FA. He refereed one of the Conference play-off matches at the end of last season.

I have never seen him referee and can offer no insight as to what to expect from him.

Assisting will be Mark Duncan from Warrington and Neil Sharp from Hartlepool with League Referee Richard Clark keeping an eye on the new ref whilst acting as 4th Official.

I wish this newly promoted chap all the best.
Although as he has the same name as the Carlisle Manager , I don't like it , I don't like it at all..........:'(

Shouldn't worry too much; we haven't always done that well with referee Brown in charge.
