Getting itchy feet with the whole car thing, may well have to say sod it to the finances and treat myself again (yes I know I said elsewhere that the mortgage was my priority but....).

Which of these would you go for:

M5 - Top end performance and handling in a subtle style:

645 Sport - Not the performance but convertible, very stylish and not exactly slow:

I'm currently very torn between the two. Any other suggestions in the £25-30k price bracket of equivalent performance/style? Please do not mention Aston Martins.....

Out of the two got to be the M5, great looking motor and you can fit your golf clubs and trolley in it no problem.

Mind you MrB scrap the golf idea we all know what happens when you get out on the course (where's that slamming golf club into ground smilie?) :)

Porsches are out of the equation. Just won't do it. Also not sure my back is up to getting in and out of an Elise.

Only downside of the M5 is that I do love a convertible....

Go for one of them new Jaguars which look a little like them other cars, you know the errrrrrm......shhhh AM ones....

Or I could sell you one of these for between £25-£30K:

It will be like a convertible as the roof folds all the way back.....I can tell you're tempted....

They're very different cars! If you want/need a family motor i doubt there's anything out there better than an M5 at the moment, although the Audi RS4 is pretty good too. If on the other hand you want a convertible there's the Mercedes SL. I'd love an Audi S5 but at around £35,000 they're probably too expensive for your budget, but worth considering because it's a buyers market and they'll fall in value again soon.
