Cav Miley out injured for ‘several weeks’ - club not allowed to replace him

I think we should at the same time be able to say it’s entirely down to Ron’s incompetence that we are in an embargo, whilst also saying that the way an embargo is managed and implemented by the NL is equally shameful.

Complete disregard for player welfare. Cav is a long term injury and he is part of the 16. Yet somehow I am not remotely surprised it is somehow difficult to replace him in the 16…
As a matter of interest, does anyone actually know (as opposed to guessing) exactly why the embargo is still in place?

I said one simple word on Twitter when I read this yesterday - bollocks!

Cav is the heartbeat of this side, makes everything tick and puts in those all important well timed tackles. Best player we've had since Lenny left.

As for blaming one man, well, yes, but I also blame the National League for the ridiculously harsh restrictions they have placed on us meaning having to play players who are considerably less than 100% fit. They have little regard for player welfare.

Would it be good or pointless if the Trust made the point to the NL ( maybe with 1000 signatures ) or is that inappropriate for their role.?
just a thought otherwise we are just ******* it up?

Even when Cav stepped in and did a great job al left back we still missed him in midfield.

Across the middle we have a lot of 'luxury' for the NL and that's why Cav has been so vital. Maybe time for the new lad form the Ricay to slot in at the back with Harry T the only real candidate to take Cav's place.
I alqys remember when Kensdale came to SUFC it was said he can also play midfield , if Ralph is fit lets see if he can ., Taylor is loving playing cd and wants to continue there

Such a devastating shame he's injured, I'd say he's our most important player. He makes us tick and keeps us solid, he's going to be a huge loss. Sadly I can see us going through a few tough few weeks results wise, wouldn't be surprised if more injuries followed.

I don't see much point in a petition but surely an official letter to the NL from the Trust would be a good option. Perhaps seeking clarification on the terms of the embargo and their views on player welfare?

At least their reply (if any) might be instructive.

Not being allowed to replace him is a farce. At this point, the league is showing a total disregard for player welfare. Absolutely no reason as to why the embargo can’t be lifted already. What a joke.

We obviously havent paid everything off to the satisfaction of the league rules. Sure Justin wants to get in and square everything off, then can be lifted hopefully in time for the Jan window (I know we arent covered by the window, but may help with players generally being shipped out of clubs)

It'll be interesting to see the NL's reasoning for this, they seem to change the rules upon a whim given that they have let us de-register other players so we can have replacements.

Out for 3 months
Not good news:Sorry:

As fantastic as Noor was in the Cav role today, it’s a huge loss.

I’m guessing the NL deem us as having 16 players then? It was interesting that we were allowed to name Beau MacDonald as a sub today. Is he now one of the 16, or are the NL relaxing the rule on youth players being included? It’s so confusing…
