Cav Miley out injured for ‘several weeks’ - club not allowed to replace him

Agreed, but I actually think Noor had a poor-ish game on Saturday. I think he misplaced more passes on Saturday than he has the rest of the season put together.

To be clear, I'm not knocking Noor as he's been amazing for us, I'm just making the point that, however we'll we've done without Cav, it'll be good to get him back.
I remember posting on Twitter/X a few weeks ago that this run of matches where we’ll have less possession than normal will be the test for how good Husin is in Miley’s role.

We definitely lose a certain amount of physicality in midfield in Miley’s absence, but if we have lots of possession we perhaps wouldn’t notice it as much - and Husin is possibly a slight upgrade in terms of his ball retention and general ability to help us control possession.

Now we’re facing a few sides who will make it more difficult for us to have as much possession, there’s more emphasis on physicality in Miley’s role, and this is where we may miss him a bit more. Husin also seemed to misplace a few risky long passes against Chesterfield too, and this isn’t ideal as you want your #6 (or whatever you want to call Miley’s position) to keep possession better.

But Husin’s been generally top class since Miley (who imo is the best #6 in the division) got injured. Helps retain possession very well, super versatile and physical enough to win duels.

I think we may under estimate how robust our midfield 3 is even without Miley. Cook commented on our physicality and that we were a tough team to play against. Husin and Coker in particular are strong on and off the ball.

I believe I saw a quote from Maher somewhere recently that said Demi was about to start training again. By deduction that must mean his hammy wasn't as bad as first feared, and he would be a very welcome addition to the squad again, embargo lifted or not.
JD did some initial running yesterday which went well. Hopfully back in proper training next week and hear he potentially might be fit enough for the game at the end of next week if required. However, sounds like gus may have done his quad in training so there could be an issue this week if the NL continue disallowing emergency loans for us.
