Is it really disrespectful to call a monkey Charlotte? It was supposed to be a nice gesture but many English people have complained about it. Has the world gone crazy? Do you really care? Would William or Kate be insulted?

That's a good point. They probably wouldn't like it. But then again, the emperor has traditionally being looked upon as being god-like. Not sure people feel the same about the royal family! If the Japanese named a monkey Jesus, there'd surely be uproar in all christian countries.
