We went to Charlton v Middlesbrough on Saturday and was amazed at the number of Blues on show.

Middlesbrough had ex loanee George Friend playing at left back, he is a classy full back as he was on his brief stint here. Charlton was like a mini Southend's finest XI

They had Dorian Dervitte playing at the back, Mark Gower central midfield and amongst the subs was Leon Cort. On the sidelines Charlton also had Sir Chrissy Powell and first team condition coach Laurence Bloom.

It was almost home from home and was nice seeing so many decent ex shrimpers involved on a higher stage.
