Just a bit of information for those interested:

The Chelmsford CAMRA Beer Festival is taking place that week (the last day being Saturday 15th) at the Moulsham Mill Sports Field (very close to the Army and Navy Flyover). It might pay to give this a visit pre and post-match. Loads of Real Ales/Ciders to test/guzzle. As well as over 100 Belgian Beers (always a good thing).

Does anyone know any directions to the ground please, or at least what part of the town its in,thanks

It is in the Melbourne area of Chelmsford.

If you are coming by car from Southend from the Army and Navy go past what used to be the Army and Navy pub and stay on this main raod - the Parkway. Go over the first roundabout (Odeon Roundabout) and then get into the middle lane. Pass the pedestrian crossing, and straight on at the traffic lights at Moulsham Street. At this point you will be in the left-hand lane, remain there for the next roundabout and under the viaducts. Follow the road signs for Broomfield, and stay in the left hand lane.

Go past the King Edward Grammar School and you are on the Broomfield Road. Stay on this road, just past the BP garage get into the right-hand lane, as left-hand lane is left turn only (at this point you ar eopposite the Girls Grammar School. Carry along the Broomfield Road - on the left hand  side of the road are 1st-5th Avenue (I live in 5th!).

Just past 5th Ave is a set of traffic lights, turn left here up Patching Hall Lane, and then past St. John Payne School. At the roundabout turn left then follow the signs for the MElbourne Sports Ground.

Voila.
