Chris loves his facts, especially negative ones. It was only a few weeks ago he was banging on about our terrible defensive record despite it being over a small handful of games including four of our toughest away games of the season.

For all we know, it could work the other way and spur to players on to ensure we smash the recent November hoodoo, it seems to have done the trick with Hall.

Jesus he's only doing his job! Its his job to find interesting slants for his stories and the fact we've been poor in November over a number of years is something to write about. There can't be any more to it than just coincidence and perhaps a tough set of fixtures so there's no reason it can't be put right this year. Chill out.

Someone's not paying attention. How many times has the Echo managed to print a report of a Southend loss the last couple of months eh?

Personally, I think it must be difficult coming up with new stories for a club such as ours. As long as he actually deals with facts rather than conjection, then that is fine by me.

Think that's the key here. Sometimes the Echo are a bit like the Daily Mail when things are going well they need to look at a negative angle. I know they are facts but they could be just ignored and not brought to our attention.

But sometimes you need to be brought down to ground and given a reality check? It's not because he is pessimistic, but a trend is worth recognising.
