CM5 released THIS Friday...

Championship Manager 5 will be released this Friday (18/3) after a series of delays which stretch back as far as October last year.

With Football Manager already establishing itself as a household name, can we expect the new developers of the Championship Manager series to match, or even exceed the popularity of FM?

Personally, the new installment from SiGames has been a huge dissapointment for me. The 2d match engine is poor, the gameplay is slow, and I've come across an abundance of silly errors on the development of the game.

CM5's specifications look to make up for these annoying traits of FM2005. It has a vastly improved match engine with additional options such as player cam, the processing is lightening quick, and the database is said to be the biggest yet.

So will you be buying it?

I'm quite happy with FM2005, but i love management games so i will probably buy it at some point anyway if people say it's good

hmm I think Hattrick should come out on the Ps2 and Xbox!

I might buy it to have a look, but I'm quite happy with FM2005 at the mo. It'll be interesting to see if they have managed to add to the gameplay as well as sprucing up the interface

I didn't get FM so will probably give CM a go.
