It was really moving in the East Stand as he started his lap - folk were queuing up to shake his hand, pat him on the back and put money his way.

You could see he was holding back the tears with the emotion of it all (as was I seeing him in that state, he was thinking no doubt of his little boy and the generous spirit of people no matter who they support).

It was more memorable than anything else this afternoon and there was a lot to compete with.

Well done Tom. What you did will live long in the memory, and all the best for the future.
