Chaps,

Just had a new bathroom fitted and I am now noticing problems with the boiler.

If we do not use the CH or HW for a couple of hours the pressure drops to almost 0.

Now, the only way to get the pressure up again is to crank up the CH for about 10 mins, then turn the hot taps on full blast for a while. If I try and use the hot taps first, it just doesn't have any of it.

Any of you pro's out there able to offer some advice?.... Other than getting someone in to look at it of course.

We had this issue. Had to refill the system using the filling loop (bit of a fiddle). It's most likely a leak causing your pressure to drop - look around everywhere for a leak; it only needs to be really small. Ours was a radiator valve where a plasterer had moved it and not tightened it properly, caused the pressure to drop in a day. Other option is something's wrong with the boiler, but eliminate the leak option first otherwise you'll spend money having your boiler messed with for no reason.

The CH is on a sealed curcuit so as pubes says you have a leak at worsed or airblock at best, bleed your rads and top up using the filling loop if problem continues get a plumper in.

did you have a plumber involved when having your bathroom fitted? I'd get them around and expect them to sort it for free.

It seems after talking to Smiffy the boilerman never re-filled and bled the system up after doing the new bathroom.:dunce:
