just been looking on the web and apparently, both Hull City and Oxford want Leon. What chance do you reckon we have on keeping him?

where did you see that then? Have you got a link so we can all take a look?

They're best mates, 'tis the reason Connie is here in the first place, 'cos Corty recommended him.

I think that leon would prefer to stay with the shrimpers , but like all of us if the right offer comes along we will loose him . Hull city have the best chance. We should have offered him a contract months ago. But i reckon he must feel with tilly in charge we have a great chance next season and his best mate is at the club which helps. Time will tell.

its not so much a link, i went on google.co.uk to try and see how many goals he has scored in total (southends website cuts it all off), i typed in 'Leon Constantine' and it all came up, it was an Oxford forum discussion and was on Hulls official website i think.

they told me the post couldnt be posted!! then they post it twice!! im not that eager!

Most Players have mates in teams all over the place i dont think Cortys decision will sway Connie either way... They wont stop being friends if they dont play for the same club - Besides wasnt they at Mill Wall together once?

it would be nice for him to wait and see who stays and who tilly can bring in, at least then we'll know he thought about it, unlike a certain player who goes by the name of Mark R***E

Actually I like the idea of Drewwwwweeeeee and Henry up front- Gallic flair mixed with English industriousness.

Hey, Drewe, what is ze English for "je ne peut plus marquer un but"?

reckon it would be more likely Leon going to Arsenal that Henry coming to Southend!

That for me is the point. None of this is new. Hull (PT in particular) have already stated that they like him, and Oxford is not really a surprise.

For me, Oxford won't get him. I can't see them making the play offs, and even if they do I can't see them getting promoted. I can't see them being that great a draw for Conny.

Hull, however is a different matter. If they go up and they want him they will probably get him. He would be mad to turn them down. I would imagine they can afford to pay him a lot more than we can, he will be playing at a higher level in front of at least double the crowd he does now.

The one saving grace is that he had a bad game against them, and didn't do a huge amount against Yeovil either. Now it doesn't matter, let's hope his form until the end of the season is equally as poor!

I have also been told that RM is prepared to offer good contracts to the players he wants to keep this time around. Basically he is prepared to spend some of the money we made this year in various cup competitions. If that is the case, Conny etc should be offered a reasonable amount. How much, and whether it will be enough to keep him here and see off offers from Hull et al, we will find out in good time....
