It seems a popular concept in many parts of Europe and it seems to work very well for the likes of Red Star, Partizan and Dynamo Zegrab. I only found out today that Barcelona and Bayern Munich were sports clubs rather than just football clubs so I was wondering, could it work here. As an example, what if Southend United Football Club joined forces with Southend Rugby Club and maybe the local Basketball team and Athletics club. Pool all their resources under one banner rather than singular groups.

What do you think?

Oliver Trigg , the blue boar and 1906 have their place in the Atlhletic clubs history too
I think it would be good for the football club to have links with a club who are in the top 20 in the country and produce internationals

Would they want to get involved with a 4th division league club with a dubious owner and perrenial money issues though?

I would be happy to have some of my bare knuckle bouts at Roots Hall rather than on out of town industrial estates.

hmm, i think it works for Barca etc because its always been that way. Its one of them things that is easier to do from the start than it is to mish mash together now once history etc has been formed.

I was always aware of the fact Barca had basketball, handball and other various teams, what i was not aware of were just how succesful and popular these teams were. Was sitting in the hotel, waiting for the Mrs to get ready, and there was a sports channel which was showing some sort of exhibition day for the Basketball team, and the arena was practically full.
