Andy Coulson has reportedly offered his resignation in the wake of the phone-tap scandal, according to a few sources on Twitter.

I have to say, that's a pretty big score for the Guardian, who pushed their investigation in spite of News Corp. attempting to silence it.

EDIT: Instead of offering his resignation, he's gone and resigned.

I've no doubt someone will post the link shortly ;)

Coulson was apparently "fed up with the continual focus and distraction," says Channel 4's Cathy Newman. You mean, like the continual focus you gave celebrities' private voice mail?

Just mentioned it on the Johnson out /Balls in thread.

He's timed it so Blair admitting he ignored legal advice because he didn't like the answer dominates headlines, instead of asking the question why Cameron appointed someone who was blatantly complicit in the phone-tapping scandal, and I think may have lied to Parliament.

Someone here seems to think that some charges against Coulson may be imminent, too...
