All as an OAP:

wouldn't have a problem, with beating the bloke that did this to within an inch of his' life.. SCUM

Good God, CSJ. That's about the third time I've agreed whole-heartedly with you since you returned!

I think it's fair to say that, if they catch him and the papers publish his name in the subsequent court case, he may want to leave the area sharpish.

doesn't this see you N T, realise.. realise this bloke, and hundreds and thousands of others, made the ultimate sacrifice for the future of this country and many others.. so that this see you N T, could live in a free land, with a democracy.. and laws that protect them..

The ultimate sacrifice is to die for your country, but nice words. Good to see people realise this.

Yea, and he's still alive. Nearly happened to me a few times this summer. Anyways, I'm being picky.

I've heard it's getting pretty brutal again over there, Chadded? Any sign of it calming down in the near future?

I was in a 'calm' area. Although a Marine died in Lashkar Gah a few weeks ago. I saw progress being made, it'l just take time. As much as I don't like Alastair Leithead, or the BBC very much, his journal is quite interesting. It's online at BBC News.

Horrible neck of the woods, I don't envy you one bit.

I'll keep an eye out for that journal, cheers!
