The covid thread had run its course, and rightly imo was closed
However several threads are now seemingly infected.
Mods have asked for refrain but message has got lost.

I check a thread for a new post and it is old covid regurgitated?

Can it be lessened?

The trouble is, it’s a subject - like politics - that divides opinion and then people from both sides with opposing views turn it into a bit of a slanging match.

I come here to escape the doom & gloom, well ….. at least keep it SUFC related!!

The subject can hardly be avoided now that two of our goalkeepers are affected. To pretend it's over when cases are rising by 50k a day is cloud cuckoo land.

There is no reason for the subject to be avoided when it has relevance to the thread and it is debated sensibly. Sadly, too often threads are getting highjacked to enable some to promote an entrenched opinion on a subject. I don't think anyone is pretending the pandemic is over, far from it, but we are a football forum primarily discussing Southend United and associated discussion points.

If folk want to continue entrenched debate about Coronavirus then there are plenty of other social media platforms to do it on.
