He has just been released by arsenal, he had been training with us a while ago looks a good keeper maybe an ideal replacement for us if darryl doesnt sign, he may like it with his old friend nicolau here.

As a matter of interest, how tall is he?

Don't know his height but his favourite drink is Ribena, so doubt he'd fit in down here !

We've got someone else lined up.

Holloway was made an offer to come in for pre season, but he wants a permanent contract and has been offered deals elsewhere, thus he feels he should pursue the firm offers.

Flahavan should sign a new deal very soon after Tilly confirmed to him he'd be first choice for the start of the season. If he hadn't, Flahavan was going to leave.

We should hear more about a keeper signing soon, possibly in the next couple of days, but don't hold me to it.

I think Andy S is probably right but if he isn't don't quote me.

You think he's probably right?!

It's too soon in the week for the meths, Hank. Either that, or else your tongue is in your cheek at an impressively early hour of the day...

Anyhow, I fancy a rant, so let's just analyse what Andy said:

Or, put another way:

We might be signing a goalkeeper, whose name I cannot reveal.

Or we might not.

If Andy's post wasn't the most pointless and annoying post on this thread, I don't know what was.

If he's got something he wants to share (e.g. David Seaman fancies spending a year by the seaside), then tell us.

Otherwise, spare us the navel-gazing nonsense of "ooooohhh, look at me, I know something you don't know..."

Because it's total toss.

Aargh, right, that's my Monday morning rant done.

Agreed. I think. Well possibly but it's not certain. It probably is though. A mate of a mate's mate agreed with you and he's usually pretty reliable. The bloke in the pram shop is pretty close to the club and he also agrees that it's probably agreeable.

I've had the metaphorical equivalent of that.

It's called "Monday morning after a long weekend" (was in Scotland at a wedding on Friday, and didn't get to spend long enough there)...

So we might sign a keeper, but we might not?

Does that mean the Hippo did in fact fall through the greenhouse roof and squash the tomatoes?

We might find out in the next couple of days about that, Steve, but don't hold me to it...

our first game of the season will be at home - but it might be away - don't hold me to that

See thats the problem with this club, we never get a straight answer about the hippo's OR the tomatoes, they're not even mentioned on the official site.

Actually Matt, thats the most accurate post ever.

To add fuel to the fire, I am prepared to say that at some point we WILL be signing at least one goalkeeper, and almost certainly 2, before the start of the season.

You heard it here first!

Word is that the hippos are eating tomato soup, but they may not be. If they aren't, it's not my fault, so don't hold me to it.

One of whom is, presumably Darryl Flahavan. Otherwise, we have no goalies at the club.

Hardly the day's most earth-shattering news, fbm...

Matt, I'm fairly confident that any new keeper we sign won't be a hippo (unless Southall comes back again).

It is possible, however, that any new keeper may be pelted with tomatoes.

And as for greenhouses why is it that man who go to bed with itchy bum wake up with smelly finger ?

I don't know - is that the same reason why the man who put **** in biscuit tin is f**king crackers?
