Last season two out of our last 4 away games were at Crewe and Carlisle. This year two out of our first 4 away games are at Crewe and Carlisle. Last year we won them both ... this year ?

The young man in charge of this year's match at Crewe is Steve Bratt from Walsall. This is his third season and he is part of the "talent group" of referees who are beeing groomed for future "stardom". He has progressed thus far without too much controversy ... bar one game. He made the headlines after last season's match at QPR when he was cited in (poor) mitigation of a drink driving offence.

Has not refereed Southend before, but this will be his fourth Crewe match. His 5 matches so far this season have produced two red cards and 13 yellows. That's one more red than the whole of last season.

Assisting will be Ian Dudley from Nottingham, Mark Hutchinson from Cheshire with the fourth official being Andrew Hutchinson, also from Notts.

Elsewhere, Kettle gets to visit the vast empty expanses of the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

I lurve ref watch ...... but 2 questions

1/ what has Kettle done wrong ?

2/ who plays at the Weston Homes Comm. stadium ?

Top effort as per usual Mick.

Has Mr Singh got a game this week, or is he still rested.

Hopefully Kettle will be his usual carp self, and send off 3 Col Ewe players, whilst awarding 2 dogy pens to the oppo, and disallowing a last minute equaliser for the in-breds

Singh is back at Bristol City.

What about Alan Wiley after his shocking performance at Stoke? I imagine he will be "rewarded" with the weekend off.
