Obviously we are in the FA cup but have to start a round earlier.

The league Cup and football league trophy are out.

We now are in the FA trophy.

It's that it?

So we will be a cup competition shorter and with only 23 teams in the national league, we will also be 2 league games shorter too.

There is normally a National League cup (obviously not this season with the NLS and NLN suspended).
I would expect that to return next season.

Pretty sure they haven’t done that for years now? Pulled it when some NL teams were allowed into the JPT/LDV.

Not going to miss the U23 abomination the FL Trophy has turned into.
FA Trophy is played on Saturdays. Last season went straight to penalties after a draw, but usually it's replays and the FA Trophy takes precedent over the league fixtures wise. It's probably the biggest gripe clubs coming down from the league have when they find out multiple league fixtures are moved around for FA trophy games.

With our cup record though you feel we won't have that problem, fully expecting a good thrashing at the hands of a Concord or Hornchurch (who've just won it). Especially with how Phil Brown approached the cup competitions the last time he was here.

That's not been run for years and won't be back.

im quite happy for our u23s to play in the Essex senior cup,it gives our young lads some experience against men, dont care whether we win ot lose as long as its helping them .
