Dalglish Sacked by Liverpoo

Don't know why you lot find this so funny.

It's a tragedy of Scouserian proportions that he hasn't been able to continue the stirling work he was going. His contribution to comedy was immense and he'll be missed by opposing fans all over the country - and not to mention a few opposing chairmen.

the stupid thing is 4 key executives have left because of him. Ian Cotton, who fell on his sword over Kenny's disastrous Suarez PR gaffe; Paul Tyrrell, who was Kenny's buffer between him and the press, and not forgetting Damien Comolli, who was director of football.

Surely someone would have seen that Kenny's alienated the staff! The fans love him, but he's bitter and acerbic

Liverpool fans have to be realistic. Take away Reina, Gerrard and Suarez and you have a very average team. Seems to be one of those jobs where the epxectations are so ridiculosuly high that even good managers struggle (and no one can deny the likes of Hodgson, Daglish and Benitez are good managers). The last 15 years or so theyve had one season where they got close to the title (2009?).

Other than the last three seasons when they have changed the manager several times they have finished in the top 4 in 8 out of the previous 10 season's including another 2nd in 2002.
Losing Benitez due his disagreements with Hicks and Gillette led to bad few seasons but I still do not think it is unrealistic for fans to wish to finish in the top four again with the with the squad they have of players they have available..

You only have to look at a number of threads and posts elsewhere on the Zone to see football fans can be unrealistic about the clubs they follow and it is always best to set the bar as high as possible but sometimes if you have a good manager you have to stick with him even after a disappointing season IMHO.

Good job this is the end of the season or there'd be a minute's silence at Anfield for the next game.

Heard that Mark Stimson was offered the job as Dalglish's replacement ......................... but turned it down to sign for Thurrock.

been listening to the phone-ins today and the scousers are already moaning about Brendan Rodgers, I think the scousers were still hoping for Rafa or that somehow they could dig up and re-animate Bill Paisley or Shankly.
