Another one gone from the cabinet. Theresa May will have to have a quick shuffle but Green obviously got their first.

David Davis backtracking on his pledge to quit if Green was forced out.
Previously I thought DD quitting would be the end of Brexit but with his loose tongue undermining negotiations and May seemingly ok with caving in to EU demands maybe it would run smoother without him.

Either way,it would certainly be a brave man (or woman) who'd bet on this Tory government lasting throughout 2018.

In a normal business situation Green would have been sacked; a bye-election now would be interesting. The bloke seems to have no shame. I have no big problem with him using adult material: But not in the work place! And as for the huge whopper lies!!!!!
If "they" consider him fit to be a representative of the community then the H of P is still in a separate unreal existence.

Of course ,there's no question of a by-election since he's just been sacked from the Cabinet not as an MP.

Not that I'm particularly sympathetic to the Tories or DM, (though he seems a nice enough bloke) but he was sacked for telling lies (twice) to the PM,rather than for (historical) porn.charges or even inappropriate sexual conduct towards a female journalist, which shows you how tough, (rightly), the ministerial code of conduct is.

Green had to go because this is so embarrassing.

Not so much to him but to Theresa May who has attempted to criminalise "extreme" porn and regulate access to it on the internet.

I've seen unsubstantiated things on t'net (that maybe absolute nonsense) that Green was looking at a type of pornography, that if he viewed the same images today, he'd be off to prison.

Clearly he remains a MP, clearly imo that is wrong. Would he still be a judge? teacher? or police officer? if he had surfed such stuff at work on his work's computer? NO, NO and NO.
Lying to his boss??? sackable again in most workplaces when it is about important stuff.
For me the Ministerial Code is as much use as a chocolate teapot.

MK, if you check out some edgy dodgy stuff at work (on the rails?) and you get found out, then what would be your future there? And if you then tried to blame it on others in the office and lied to the boss a few times about it?

I'd be sacked for gross misconduct. I'd imagine most of us would but MPs seem to live in a bubble.

Can't help but wonder what the divine Oscar would have had to say about a PM who lost an election, her majority, her voice and three cabinet ministers, all in the space of a few months? :winking:
