Not got a club yet but seems to have been touted around, saw him on the scoresheet a lot in u18 & u21 games but never saw him play. Can any of the guys who watch the youths give us an assessment?

Thanks

I was really surprised when we released him, him and Wabo used to bang them in for the youths.

Yeah I remember, but all I saw was the scoresheets and odd match report so don't really know what kind of player he is?

Maybe his heart just wasn't in it. We had a lad a few years back who was getting rave reviews in the youth Justin Hazell(?). He decided against being a professional footballer and wanted to pursue a career outside of football.

I spoke to a member of Dan's family on Twitter around the time of his release. Apparently it had come as a big shock to him and he felt he hadn't been given enough opportunities to impress. Seemed prolific at U18 level, but it just didn't happen for him on the step up. Seemed to have taken the knock back very hard. It just shows how different the standard of football is.

I played with Justin at youth level, he really was a cut above. I was very very surprised when he left us. He's always had a guaranteed job at his family's antique business to fall back on, so I'm really not sure as to why he didn't give the full-time game more of a go.
