I went on their fans site and asked how, in the days of wage capping, they could afford Hignett, Wijnhard and Armstrong.

These are 2 of the responses:

They ain't on as much as you think. Hignett is an adopted local lad anyway and simply wants to play football. Armstrong is on a short term deal along with Clyde Wijnhard who is on a match to match deal. These lads ain't going to cripple us because we've been sensible and attracted them thanks to our facilities and not the cash on the table.

Probably because our wage bill for this season prior to those 3 arriving was the lowest in the league so there was room to bring them in. Also, having such a small squad helped too what with the 20 players rule while we were in Admin.
