Darlo to sign another striker....?

The word on the street is that he has agreed a 3 month contract, although nothing is official yet. Would give us a tasty strikeforce of Hignett, Armstrong and Wijnhard.

Hignett's more a midfielder nowadays, isn't he...?

Anyhow, tasty is certainly the word... blimey, since the padlock came off the Darlo purse (presumably, you've successfully exited administration?), you've not hung about in getting some quality names in, have you?!

Here's hoping:
*they haven't gelled by this Saturday...

*they're not coming to Darlo (what do we call your stadium now, by the way?) to don the metaphorical pipe & slippers...

Its now "The Williamson Motors Stadium". Williamson Motors apparantly paid 50k for the season.

Hignett has always been a midfielder, we play him behind the front 2. He has an injury and didn't play on Saturday, and is unlikely to be risked tonight so he's fit for Saturday. Both Armstrong and Hignett have only made 2 appearances each for us yet, so they are still "gelling"

IF we sign Wijnhard, we will probably line up in a 5-3-2, something like this.....

Russell

Gregorio/Wainwright Fleming Liddle Clarke Valentine/Kendrick

Thomas Close

Hignett
Wijnhard Armstrong

Hmm... conceding a lot of possession in midfield, potentially. Are you a counter-attacking side? Are Wijnhard and Armstrong quick enough for that sort of tactic?

Interesting. We play a much more standard 4-4-2, and have decent ball-winners in the centre of the park in Maher and Bentley. Should be an interesting match-up.
