Dead wood

Louis Walsh? Who he, lol? I'd love to know what we're keeping first?
Of the 'keeps' I would reckon maybe one, two at most might consider it.
The rest have shown they can play at Lge2 level, or even above on a good day.
Chances of Clifford, Elvis and Dieng agreeing terms?
To borrow from Elvis Costello: less than zero.

Yeah that is assuming we stay in L2 and they get offered decent deals.
Walsh is contracted anyway.

John White is the biggest and easiest keep of all the players out of contract. Doesn't have bad games. In our best defensive spell of the whole season shock he is a part of it.

Totally agree, overall Shrimperzone player of the season so far based on Chaperz ratings

Louis Walsh - Keep
Nathan Ferguson - Keep
Jacob Mellis - Can’t tell at the moment
Ricky Holmes - Not had long enough to try

FWD:
Simeon Akinola - Keep
Brandon Goodship - Depends how he finishes the season. If he doesn’t get much game time and doesn’t score he can go. If he starts to show signs of playing well then keep.
Matt Rush - Keep
Emile Acquah - Keep
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild - Send back
Greg Halford - Release
Nile Ranger - Keep

You'd keep 3 left backs and a keeper who's yet to make a save in anger?! :)

GK:
Mark Oxley - Keep - if we can afford him next season/
Harry Seaden - Keep
James Montgomery - Keep (only if we cant keep Oxley)

Jacob Mellis - ?
Ricky Holmes - Release

FWD:
Simeon Akinola - Keep
Brandon Goodship - Release
Matt Rush - Keep
Emile Acquah - Keep
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild - Release
Greg Halford - Release
Nile Ranger - Release - it'll soon be 10 mins football in 4 years. Lets move on.

Don’t know about your fandom.
McCormack may be older but ,playing at the back,he’d still be quicker than White, win the same amount of headers and read the game better.

Problem with Mc Cormack since he has been back. How many 90 minutes has he played.
How many has John White ?

My take on the squad and who we should retain/release

GK:
Mark Oxley - Release, irrespective of a few good performances he's been too comfortable in the no.1 spot for too long. Would free up some money on the wage bill too.
Harry Seaden - Keep
James Montgomery - No idea. Hardly had to make a save

DEF:
Elvis Bwomono - Keep (only possible if we survive)
Jason Demetriou - Keep (6 month extension and see how things go)
Nathan Ralph - Release (too many injuries)
Tom Clifford - Keep (only possible if we survive)
Harry Kyprianou - Release
Shaun Hobson - Keep
Harry Lennon - Release (not convincing on the pitch, when he gets on it)
John White - Keep (player/coach role)
Richard Taylor - Release
Miles Mitchell-Nelson - Release
Sam Hart - Keep
Tyler Cordner - Send back to the Cherries. Plays like Harry Lennon but better fitness record.

MID:
Alan McCormack - Keep (player/coach role)
Timothee Dieng - Keep
Ashley Nathaniel-George - Undecided, needs to learn the concept of link-up play and passing
Eren Kinali - Keep (if the manager wants him)
Lewis Gard - Release
Michael Klass - Release
Harry Phillips - Release
Terrell Egbri - Keep
Kyle Taylor - Keep (via 2nd loan or perm signing)
James Olayinka - Keep (but reckon we can dream on)
Louis Walsh - Keep and loan out
Nathan Ferguson - Keep
Jacob Mellis - who?
Ricky Holmes - Play him in no.10 role and then I'll make a call

FWD:
Simeon Akinola - Keep
Brandon Goodship - Needs to make a lasting impression towards the end of this season, otherwise release
Matt Rush - Keep and loan out to NL/NLN/NLS
Emile Acquah - Keep (but must be 2nd to a more senior target man who can mentor him)
Reeco Hackett-Fairchild - Keep if we can (good energy and good crossing ability)
Greg Halford - Release, really not sure what he offers at all.
Nile Ranger - Heart says keep in the hope he can roll back the years. Head says release because surely there's more reliable options out there.

Clearly the squad look up to Macca/Whitey as role models. I'd keep them around to guide and mentor the younger prospects we have on board.

Some players have been with us too long and shouldn't be getting any further chances.
