Just learnt that my favourite drummer passed away last week. Ted McKenna was best known for hitting the skins in the Sensational Alex Harvey Band, but he also drummed for Rory Gallagher, Michael Schenker and a host of other well known names. He was considered by many to be one of rock's great drummers.

For the last few years he has been a member of Band of Friends, a Rory Gallagher 'tribute' formed by Gallagher's former band members. I had the pleasure of speaking to him (briefly) before one of their gigs two or three years ago and he came across as a warm genuine individual. At only 68 he has gone too soon.

American actor, Richard Miller has passed away aged 90.

"You know your guns pal".

Richard appeared in more than 100 films, including The Terminator, Gremlins, Piranha, The Howling, The Little Shop of Horrors, The 'Burbs and Small Soldiers to name just a few.
