What with Jacko dying, who in your OPINION, had the biggest influence on music worldwide?

Would we have had pop music itself without Elvis, in turn would we have had the Beatles...etc..etc..etc

Lennon for me, as a representation of The Beatles. Elvis was undoubtedly a huge icon and paved the way for The Beatles in many ways. However he was still a singer singing someone elses songs. The Beatles paved the way for artistswriting their own stuff and shaping their own careers. For that reason alone I'd say they had more influence on what followed.

I am suprised no-one has mentioned SL2's "On a Ragga Tip".

When I was fifteen or that was a classic at house parties and I seem to recal despite the fact no-one could comprend the words we all had a good go at singing along.

"Hey Hey,Buday, A wat la da dem, Hey Hey,Buday, A wat la da dem".

When i found out they had split I nearly ended it.
