The second Sunday in March is the cut off point for suspension for accumulating 10 yellow cards. According to Soccerbase, excluding the two that became a red against Coventry, Deegan is currently on 9 bookings, which would make him only one yellow card away

However, the FA list players who are only 1 booking away from suspension, and Deegan's name is not on the list.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I don't know for definite but are the two yellows excluded or included in the count?

As far as I'm aware they're excluded, however he has 9 without them (or 11 with them!) hence the confusion. My guess is one of the ones listed wasn't actually a booking for him and he's actually on 8 (which is what the BBC website says).

I have wondered about this myself, ever since he got the 1 match ban for the 2 yellows against Coventry.
I would have thought that would have been a 3 match ban, 1 for the red and 2 for going over 10 yellows. If not, surely he is still on 9 yellows and one booking away from a ban?

The BBC website showing 8 yellows is incorrect. For all 9 games he has been booked according to Soccerbase, the BBC match report for the game is showing him as receiving a yellow.

I read the thread title and thought he was making himself available for Kids Parties and the like, during his absence from the first team
