Hardly the first time a club has let a senior player take temporary charge while they find someone permenant. He's the senior player who's been here the longest who would want to do it, so he's the obvious choice.

Who knows, he could turn out to be the next Tilly..

I know things have been terrible, but the explosion of negativity about anything the club does these days is very tiring.

Who on earth did people expect to be taking charge at the weekend? Did people not want a clean slate and for everyone involved in first team matters to go? There you are then.

It's one game ffs.

No problem with this at all. He's a senior pro and likely for one game.

Let's be honest if the senior pro's can't oversee an acceptable performance against Chertsey then we're in bigger trouble than I thought.

Disappointed we couldn't get Jeremy Kyle in for the one game. Heard he is great at team talks.

I don't get why people are moaning; what did we expect, some random person to come in for one game!!!

It’s been said before but I would have LOVED Ron Martin to take charge of this one. Perhaps come out with the team wearing full kit, waving to the crowd….
I first read this as he would lead the team out wearing “full kilt“- Had visions of him wearing a bearskin hat & sporran , blowing “Scotland the brave “ through a set of bag pipes in all his 5 foot 4 inch glory marching onto the pitch with the team behind him?

Out of interest what were you expecting in time for the weekend?

Demi is an A License holder and a former international captain. The only embarrassment here is the club has been left with no one else to turn to but its most senior player. It'll only be one game.

I was hoping he would be part of the clean out. Very limited ability, and a complete tool to boot. The fact that he has been appointed caretaker indicates to me that he has a big voice in the changing room.... Which, given the freefall of the club since he settled here, isn't necessarily a positive thing.

Be fascinating to see what Demi does with the shape and balance of the squad and how well he can stir motivations and confidence

As long as if we do beat the mighty Chertsey The Dembuster is not suddenly seen as the new messiah and the bandwagon gets underway that he must be given a long term role

As stated though she be a one off event
