Hi, a request if I may to help with something I am writing

Who was the Derby player that brought down one of our players when clear on goal in the 1976 FA Cup tie at the Baseball ground? I think it was Roy MacFarland, tho it might have been Colin Todd or Bruce Rioch.

And was our player Stuart Parker in that?

I'm sure someone with a long memory will know!

Thanks

I think it was Rioch and I think it was Terry Nicholl he brought down. I am pretty sure Stuart Parker would have played. In English that year we had to write our autobiographies and I know I wrote about the game in that so I will dig it out later and see if there's anything in there to back it up.

You might get a better response to this in Chit Chat rather than the Pub?

It was Bruce Rioch who committed the foul.Stuart Parker certainly played. Can't remember who BR brought down through the mists of time.Though I do remember I was arrested after the game.

Ok, found it, doesn't answer your first question, but says that Stuart Parker had a goal disallowed so he definitely DID play! Also says that Rioch was committing many crude tackles and escaping censure.
