... but the chances of play are slim.

Looks like it might get played at Taunton tomorrow according to someone on the forum on the official site.

They are playing today (I think its at Exmouth).

96/2 at the halfway stage.

Its a little slow going considering pinch-hitters were sent in at no.s 1 and 3. However alongside Will Jefferson (27 off 62) is everyone's favourite cricketer Grant Flower on 7no and I confidently predict he will prove to be Essex's man of the match.

Essex innings                                                   R   M   B  4 6
WI Jefferson          run out                                  27  90  62  1 0
*RC Irani             c Mole             b Hancock             41  40  44  4 2

A Flower              not out                                  59  69  64  2 1
RS Bopara             not out                                  50  46  52  3 0
Extras                (b 3, lb 3, w 12)                        18

With Devon 23-6, I make Essex firm favourites!

Gough and Adams both have taken 3-11

not doing bad the boys!

andre has had a great start to the season. long may it continue.

37 - 6 now, we are losing our firm grip on the game
