Does anyone know if the fooball league pays a bonus depending on what position the club finishes in , and if they do what the amounts might be.

If there are payments this would be relevant to potential offers for Barney etc

Nope no bonus amounts for where you finish, the team that wins the league only gets about £50,000 in prize money.

Promotion to the Championship - £50,000.
Relegation to the Championship - £30,000,000.

Something wrong that rewards failure!

Or something that helps support clubs from getting into debt from dropping out of the most prized league in the world!?

In other news I just spotted your 97 year old lad looking down at the bottom shelf mags in Tescos Southend store he was quite interested in one featuring how to cook a perfect roast chicken by Delia Smith - you better go stop him before he corrupts himself in chicken fetish!!!

So how is a promoted club (say us, Col Ewe, Scunny) supposed to be able to compete in the same division? The Prem' is three divisions within itself; the Championship is becoming the same. There's little incentive to win promotion. Some say, some clubs deliberately get relegated to collect the cash. Makes financial sense.
Team no good? Have millions to compensate! It's wrong, wrong, wrong.

deliberately get relegated?? I don't know the exact figures but I do know that the TV rights and other bonuses in the prem exceed the parachute payments clubs get for being relegated!

Yes, clubs get relegated from the best league in the world for the money. Those poor clubs that survived the relegation battle only get to play against some of the best clubs in the world and get paid more for it.

I believe that £30m isn't just from coming 18th, 19th or 20th, it also comes from other streams of revenue such as TV coverage.
