What to do.......

Should I have stopped my son (12) going to Utah on his schools skiing trip yesterday?!

Ok, ok, sure it would have cost me a pie & a soda pop but somehow it just has to be cheaper than ski hire, Delta Airlines, transfers & Holiday Inn eh?!?!

Perhaps if I sold it to him like - we need you to sing & help us beat Hartlepool as you make all the difference and a week with your family is soooo much better than your friends, mentors, having fun in another country, having fun skiing, shopping, having fun socialising even with an ice hockey match thrown in!?!?

Kids today eh?! He would only rebel and choose to go away!!!!

It's ok though as I will take his twin sisters (7) instead, HAH, see if that doesn't annoy him, revenge is mine :finger: (I think!)

Evil Dad strikes again!

LMAO!

In my day it was a week in Devon. In a tent. Eating baked beans.

Kids today eh with their Basil Brush Swap Shop, hoodies and hippedy hop eh?

Grand Theft Auto on the Playstation 3? In my day it was Mazogs on a ZX81 that crashed if the 16K RAM pack moved a millimetre....

Jay Z and Shakira.... pah, Duran Duran and Kim Wilde....

Have I strayed of the path again?

Aye,

Them was the days of our lives eh!?

But really he is ok, took ipod & PSP with him to make him safe!

There's silly me with my map & compass, how stoopid did I feel with all the kids laughing at me from the coach & a son groaning 'ooohhhh Daddddd'.

If I had my way......................................

Yep,
Should have gone to the alps instead!

Alps?!

Apparently this school & geography don't seem to gel!?!?!

Aviemore or even Harlow were my suggestions lol!

What school is that Dash? Eton? Harrow?

Certainly not North Romford Comprehensive :D

Times have changed since I lived in Romford :(

Spam fritters and a week in Epping Forest was the closest I got to Utah :(

When I was at senior school, they used to go off to Italy skiing and quite often did cruises round the Holy lands, neither of which interested me. However I was fortunate enough to go on a school trip to Russia when I was in the Lower 6th, one of the first opportunities for schools to visit, and it was great! Once the littl'uns had been packed off to bed, there was a group of 5 6th formers who stayed up drinking vodka with the teachers. We saw some great stuff as well, the Kremlin, the Hermitage, Peter and Paul fort, the space museum plus visiting schools, shopping in Gum and going on the overnight train from Moscow to St Petersburg with the windows all blacked out so we couldn't see anything we weren't supposed to! Caviar as part of the in flight meal on our Aeroflot plane, Happy Days!
