Not arguably, definitely. And as we held all the cards, we should have delayed the deal until we had a reasonable quota of fit forwards, which we didn’t have when the deal went through. And it would have been even less disruptive if Wrexham had loaned us a player who didn’t break down every other week. Lack of due diligence on our part?
Would an unhappy Dalby have been more disruptive, knowing he would've blocked his big contract move?
Plus, the transfer fee was good money at the time. We were able to sign Lopata... Or so we thought and yet we didn't pay his agent £18k...? I guess us fans didn't know how bad the finances were inside the club to really turn down the Dalby fee...
