Surely it's plain to see?
Resurgent Basildon United just keep on proving their doubters wrong this season. Their early season form was just a lucky start, apparently, and perennial title chasers Enfield 1893 would sort them out. Wrong. 2-1 to the Bees.

Then after a blip against Danny Greaves Witham Town, the bubble would be well and truly burst with the visit of second placed Bethnal Green United to The Hive. Wrong again. An Oli Baker strike deep into stoppage time tonight secured the Bees a 3-2 win.

Basildon United are now second in the table, just a point behind leaders Burrnham Ramblers, with a certain club owner by the name of Dave Cuscak a happy man.

Saturday sees an intriguing clash as the Bees travel to flattering-to-deceive Southend Manor. It's a genuine could-go-any-way match.
