Ok Chaps and Ladies..Here is the draw for the first round....Heats start Tomorrow the 6th. 2 Heats per day discounting weekends.

Please remember YOU must post at least a video or some copy as to why your nominee is the best (the content can be from wiki or anywhere else)..Anybody failing to do so will automatically be eliminated and the tie awarded to the other party. Those who cannot for work reasons/etc can PM me with their editorial/videos beforehand for me to add to their heat.

Chas and Dave - ldnfatso 13 v 23 Stevie Wonder - OBL
An easy Heat here for Stevie as he sends the Eastenders back where they came from.

Robert Smith - Pubester 21 v 12 Axl Rose - spunky1983 (auto eliminated anyway for not posting)
The Cure man trounces the Gun 'N Roses front man to go safely through.

Win Butler - Another Surrey Shrimper 12 v 19 The Brothers Gibb - Rusty
Barry and the Bro's over come Arcade Fire's lead man to go through.

Paul Weller - MK Shrimper 22 v 11 Trent Reznor - Mr Gilbo
Jam front man Weller bashes the Nine inch nails man into the ground.

Brian Wilson - Shrimpero 24 v 11 Morrissey - davewebbsbrain
The Beach boys legend easily sees off the bloke who makes you want to hang yourself.

William 'Smokey' Robinson - Uncle Leo 19 v 11 Roger Waters/David Gilmour - Great Yarmouth
Quite a shock here as Smokey dumps out Floyd with ease.

Neil Diamond - They call it madness 20 v 10 Mike Skinner - shrimpboy
Neil sees off Skinner with ease.

Freddie Mercury - Billericay Blue 20 v 13 Noel Gallagher - stereoscene
Freddie wins on 2 counts here as steroscene failed to post so was auto eliminated.

Roy Orbison - Cricko 21 v 5 John Mayer - Onion_Bag_Dave
Roy shows Mayer who is the boss and goes through with ease.

Phil Collins - Crawliano 12 v 14 Leonard Cohen - Bearded Shrimper
Mr Cohen takes a big scalp here and sends Phil packing.

John Lennon - Canveyshrimper v Prince - Clinton baptiste
Jarvis Cocker - Drastic Sturgeon v Bob Dylan - Dick Bate's Protege

Some big ties in the first round already, but quietly confident here. I shan't be Going Underground for this tie

This heat should be interesting.

JS Bach - MtS v Jagger/Richards - Mcnasty

To be fair, you have got the greatest pop single of all time on your side. Common People is a masterpiece worthy of anything in the Dylan canon IMO.

Why thank you sir, I may quote you on that :winking:

I fully expect to lose (and then to vote for Dylan later on), but I'll give a bloody good account of El Jarvo.

Apparently, there's a lot of smart money on His Bobness to win the Nobel prize for Literature this year.I'm sure winning this SZ competition would be well received too.:winking:

Another great heat IMO....William 'Smokey' Robinson - Uncle Leo v Roger Waters/David Gilmour - Great Yarmouth

The greatness of Motown v's the Might of PF.

Oh bloody hell, first up and I'm on a poxy school trip all day tomorrow to sodding Colchester Castle!
