Shame to read that Dulwich could cease to function as a club re unpaid rent

Average crowd 1500 +

Yes truly horrible news that about Dulwich Hamlet. Best crowds in the league, been around for 125 years & have been playing at their ground for 87 years.

Now owned by property developers, (who want to build apartments on the site) but planning permission was refused from Southwark Council. Then turned sour very quickly between the two.

On the evening news, the manager wasn't even aloud to enter the stadium today on the grounds of trespassing and to make matters worse, the property Developers have trademarked the names "Dulwich Hamlet Football Club" "The Hamlet" and "DHFC", so they have lost their team name also!

All very nasty, The property developers said they will sell the trademarked club names that they own back to the supporters trust at the right price.

Also handed them a £121,000 bill for back rent on Monday night, and put their legal team on it, so it looks like they won't even get to play their remaining 6 home games at Champion Hill this season, let alone looking for a new place to play next season.

Well summarised. Have been keeping up to date on this and as you say the ground owners seem to find a new way each day to undermine what is a community asset. Disgraceful tactics.

Precedent now set for 'Sport Minister Tracey Crouch' to have a word or two with SBC about approving the FFS application.

great news, though I have grown to like Tooting & Mitcham's ground (T&M were relegated last season so tried a change of direction by promoting the youth management / coaching team and introduced younger players into the first team) and I'm sure they liked the rent DH were paying.
First game back at CH is against Torquay - not that long ago they were playing us....

I went to Tooting's ground back in the early 00s to interview their manager Richard Cadette!!!
