I bought and paid for an item off ebay earlier today, and the seller has messaged me this...

"Hey, thanks for a quick payment. Any chance I could have quick feedback because for some reason Paypal are holding on to my money until I get postitive feedback for the item. Ive contacted them and they told me I need the feedback in order to have the money."

Is this dodgy or am I being paranoid?

What makes me curious, is if I leave positive feedback, then whats to stop him saying he's sent the item? There's no way I could prove it, and my positive feedback would back up his claim?

It appears he's only had 3 transaction so far, and all 3 have been positive. Something just seems a bit odd. Help/advice anyone?

Don't do it. Alternatively, leave positive feedback, with the message clearly saying "Seller has told me to leave this before sending item"

Load of rollocks if you ask me, i sell on ebay and this is not standard practice at all, how the heck can you leave positive feedback when you have not seen the item you are leaving feedback about DO NO, instead contact ebay regarding the matter as they own paypal.

Cheers folks. I've contacted Ebay. Wait and see what happens.

Someone plus rep MC for me aswell, ta.

Tell him you'll give him feedback when the item has been delivered! He can see you have paid so Paypal are effectively holding the money in escrow. Once you receive the item leave him the feedback and then paypal will release the funds to him. Simples!
