End of the pier show ⭐⭐
There's at least 4 homes down my street that have Shrimpers fans in them in sunny Corringham, almost a fortress.
My buddy is a Chesterfield fan of many years, who said exactly this a couple of months ago. Just look at them - the parallels are incredible, especially around ownership and finances. If you recall, they dropped out of the league like a stone, and are really struggling in non-league. He said that it could be years before they get back into the EFL.The only mess they created was letting Bury start the season. Bolton as well. If the EFL (and PL) had a proper framework, for financial misdemeanours/non payment of employees/creditors, like the non-league in this country or any of the professional divisions in France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc etc... Southend United would have been a non-league club many moons ago.
The best thing about this season is that the shambles has come as a League 1 club because if we were about to be relegated out of League 2 and rocked up in our current state to the National League AGM we'd find ourselves playing Isthmian League football at best.
This.Provide an exciting and successful team. The fans will come.
And even a few further North in the county!
One of my brother in law's being a Shrimper and living on Layer Road!
Provide an exciting and successful team. The fans will come.
