Don't forget, we are a League 2 club. We aren't going to sign top quality players - pretty much every player we sign has some kind of defect or reason for why they aren't at a higher level. Often it makes sense to sign 'unfashionable' players - they offer better value (but might be higher risk) - it's a key moneyball concept.

The lads.

SOUTHEND United have completed a loan swoop for Sunderland defender John Egan ahead of Saturday's clash with Wycombe Wanderers at Roots Hall.

According to this article Egan joined on a 28-day loan on 27th February. Which means it expires today. No news of an extension yet....

I just raised this question on another thread, if we are not extending it seems a tad silly to let phillips go and leaving us short on CBs

Assume we must be confident of extending that loan or we surely wouldn't have let Phillips go. Unless we can recall Phillips if we need him.

I dont think you can recall them within 28 days.

With today being a loan window closing the priority will be on new deals, not extensions....they're far more likely to be at the bottom of the pile for processing! Am confident we'll hear good news on this soon, really don't think MP would have been sent out otherwise.
