Did anyone see what happened in the second half yesterday at the free kick when one of our players went down claiming he'd been elbowed, a couple of minutes of chaos followed and the ref looked in danger of losing control?

As I said on the player ratings thread, it highlighted the ineptitude of the referee. He didn't see it, so in reality he couldn't have acted on it. Without seeing the book, I'd imagine he booked both players for unsportsmanlike conduct on the basis of their being a fracas and him trying to enforce some control over the game, unless Barker's was for dissent.

If that incident had been the other way around...ie it was an opposition player who went down as if he was pole axed then 30 seconds later was up on his feet, we would have been in uproar - I don't think that reflected well on Barker. In fact it did happen later when a Vale player similarly went down later after a tackle (Paterson ?) and then got up and rightly was booed.

I didnt notice that clown of a ref ever having "control" of the game....still the officials in League 1 were in the main crap....so they aint gonna be much better in League 2 so I guess we are stuck with this sort of ability this season.
