Emmanuel Osadebe and Theo Vassell unable to be registered due to EFL Embargo?

I'd imagine that if they were going to sign they would have by now. We're in dire straits, the best we can hope for next season is survival of the club and that's looking less likely every day.

We can't get any facilities income like most clubs do as our facilities are crap is one thing. We also invest in the academy more than most.

Most clubs at this level are however loss-making.

I would hope that they are with us, training and awaiting the ok to register. If we really want them, we may well be paying them in the meantime.

True, but when we had those players we had crowds around 7-8k and probably a turnover 4 times bigger than Rochdale, Wycombe, Accrington and Fleetwood.

I doubt very much our wage bill was 4 times bigger.

We cant and shouldn't just blame this on spending too much on wages. There must be something else going on here.

Our average wage last year was apparently 2.5 times Accrington's.

According to soccerbase they had 33 players last season and we had 40.

We probably had more managers than them as well.

As an aside the Accrington website is very good with regular updates on what the club is doing.
The June update for the coming season is especially good , keeping supporters informed and summarising lots of info in one message.

Ps they were going bust in 2015 until a local businessman put in £1.8 million, and they have had cup runs.
They have also been reprimanded by the The FL for the owner treating them to McDonald’s when they win, as it’s not in their win bonus terms , therefore unless he provides food for all games in can’t do it ( he went to the press and made a laughing stock of the FL- ) https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....tigated-revealing-buys-players-mcdonalds/amp/

Good to know the league is busy on the important stuff

Our squad numbers have been high in recent seasons because we have had so many injured. When CP signed Humphrys in January, who obviously wasn't cheap we still had Hopper out long term injured. So it was hard to balance the books.

We still have nine players out injured now. Easy to forget with everything else going on. It's just been normalised now.

What the hell is going on with the EFL disciplinary? How long does it bloody take?! Pull your fingers out you idiots we need this done so we can sign these two lads!

Johnny Stokes will tell you the excellent (and accurate) song that the Orient had for the EFL.

Absolute w***ers (the EFL not Orient).

Yes, I do believe the EFL and the deals they do with money etc are not for the benefit of their member clubs but for their own fat pockets.
They (EFL) know any position that comes up Bury style, will be quickly and without quibble be filled keeping their books happy while THEIR member clubs allow it to happen as they are all pursuing individual struggles with no collective aims.

so what does that mean, are they registered in time for tomorrow or have they not actually signed because we haven't agreed it with the agents?

So does this mean they can play tomorrow

I think it means that Ron's meeting with the League went well and he expects the embargo will be lifted shortly.

However if people want to keep claiming that we weren't under embargo and that it's just a coincidence that it took us 7 weeks to agree terms with anyone and then we just happened to agree terms with two players on the same dayhour (both of whom had been training with us for the last fortnight), then please feel free to do so as entertainment has been in short supply recently.

Ron hasnt said they have signed, he said terms agreed (not agents fees) and they will now formalise that. The statement is quite clear
