He didn’t. Chris Phillips will have approached him rent-a-quote style and there was nothing to report. Ron is working on it, so as soon as he’s finished Sol will know and the OS will show it right after. Sol answered honestly and it’s just a total non-story.

Can't see we would be missing much with these two. Neither has established themselves as even L2 regulars, having been released by their previous clubs prior to Campbell signing them for Macclesfield a few weeks before he left. Would rather we kept faith with our own youngsters who clearly have some idea of team spirit rather than bottom division cast offs.

They're not cast offs, they're two of the standout performers, hence why they went to the PFA to get their own contracts terminated, as they weren't getting paid. Vassell has been injured for a while and Osadebe dropped presumably because of the wage situation

The longer it goes on the more I worry that other clubs will come in for them with more £s. Reading what Macc fans as well as other commentators say all three of the released players have shown real quality in a struggling side and would be good additions to our squad.

Just hoping we get an announcement soon after the longest January transfer thread without any signings.

When we played Macclesfield a few weeks ago, young midfielder Ben Stephens scored a decent goal and looked a class act. he was subbed in the 83rd minute having run their midfield, and was replaced by Osadebe. I suspect he will be picked up by another team in the summer.

They have both been released more than once by previous clubs and have yet to establish themselves as automatic choices other than in a struggling near bankrupt Macclesfield. If players like these are in our sights, we really are in trouble.

Both players have now been seen at Boots & Laces this week and this has been confirmed by Chris Phillips. No signing news yet but at least there is now a thread for when/if signings are made.
