England Cricket

Well done Joe Root on your 26th ton and 10000 test runs.

A truly great BATSMAN

It’s not just T20 though could it be your arguement that we are just unlucky when it comes to batting. Several revered ex-England players have lamented the affect that the increase of limited over has had on test batting…I tend to agree with them..
No it can't be we are unlucky, it must be something. I just don't buy the old traditionalists argument that it is the fault of t20 or the hundred etc. Other test playing nations don't have the same issues and England play more red ball cricket than any of the others, the t20 argument doesn't add up.

Yesterday Root was incredible. Just calm and collected. We were surrounded by NZ fans so I’m glad we won cos they were getting unbearable. Funnily enough the loudest cheer was when Stokes got called back on the no ball. 😂

Batting technique is all too obviously lacking and has been for many years now, maybe that‘s also down to how players are being coached…..

New Zealand close at 318 for 4 with the impressive Daryl Mitchell unbeaten on 81

MCC has today announced amendments to the Laws of Cricket to use the gender-neutral terms “batter” and “batters”, rather than “batsman” or “batsmen”.22 Sept 2021
MCC can announce whatever changes they want but until they allow mixed cricket it’s a freaking batsMAN. When political correctness extends to cricket you know the world has serious troubles. The next generation are going to have some serious issues.

The laws of cricket apply to both male and female cricket. Don't think anyone is stopping anybody from referring to male batsmen as batsmen.

Blimey that was right there with some of the great test innings.

Take several bows Jonny Bairstow :Worthy:

Hopefully Stuart Broad will get a fine for sarcasm and dissent to umpire Arasmus
